In today's fast-paced, digitally-driven world, young people face unprecedented challenges that can significantly impact their mental health and well-being. Recognising the urgent need for support, Jacqueline Klemke and I co-founded Let's Be Real, an initiative dedicated to empowering children, adolescents, and the adults in their lives to navigate these complexities with resilience and authenticity.
Our Mission
At Let's Be Real, we are committed to addressing the mental health crisis affecting today's youth. We understand that social media pressures, identity struggles, and a pervasive sense of disconnection can leave many young individuals feeling isolated and ill-equipped to thrive. Our mission is to provide them, along with their parents and educators, with the tools and knowledge necessary to foster resilience, a sense of belonging, and self-acceptance.
Our Services
To achieve our mission, Let's Be Real offers a range of services designed to support both young people and the adults who guide them:
Workshops: Our interactive sessions empower children and parents to build resilience, foster belonging, and embrace their authentic selves. These workshops are tailored to address the unique challenges faced by today's youth and provide practical strategies for personal growth.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training: We provide MHFA training to schools and parents, equipping them with the skills to identify early signs of mental health challenges and offer timely, effective support. By adopting a holistic approach, we ensure that all elements of a child's support system - parents, children, and educators - are equipped with the right tools.
Consulting: Our consulting services assist schools and organisations in creating environments that promote mental well-being. We work collaboratively to develop strategies and programs that support the mental health of young people within these institutions.
Our Partnerships with International Schools
One of the key aspects of our work is our collaboration with international schools across Europe. We partner with these schools to implement mental health initiatives, train educators in mental health first aid, and create programs that help students develop emotional resilience. By working closely with international school communities, we ensure that students, teachers, and parents are all equipped with the necessary skills to support one another. These partnerships allow us to bring a global perspective to mental health education, addressing the unique challenges that students in diverse, multicultural environments face.
Our Approach
We believe in a compassionate and courageous approach to tackling the challenges of modern childhood. By fostering open conversations and providing practical tools, we aim to help young individuals feel real, connected, and strong. Equally important is ensuring that the adults in their lives are equipped to support them every step of the way.
Join Us
Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. By empowering them and their support networks, we can navigate the complexities of the digital age with resilience and authenticity. Let's be kind. Let's be brave. Let's be real.
